Help Shape the Future of Research at The Male Domestic Abuse Alliance
The Research Advisory Group helps shape and strengthen the research carried out by the Male Domestic Abuse Alliance (MDAA). Our goal is to ensure that the research we produce is relevant, impactful, and focused on improving understanding, policy, practice, and support for male victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
We believe that effective research should be inclusive, diverse, and representative of the people and communities it seeks to support. That's why we're keen to bring together people from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and professions.
Whether you're a researcher, practitioner, policymaker, student, survivor, or someone with an enthusiasm to be involved, your insights can help inform and improve our work.

The group works collaboratively to identify gaps in current knowledge, highlight emerging issues, and explore areas that would benefit from further research. By bringing together researchers, practitioners, and people with lived experience, we can ensure our research is informed by evidence, grounded in practice, and reflects the voices of survivors. This helps us build a stronger understanding of the challenges facing male victims and identify opportunities for meaningful change.
As a member of the group, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of research reports, evidence reviews, briefing papers, academic papers, consultations, and other publications. These outputs help raise awareness of male victimisation, support service development, influence policy discussions, and provide valuable resources for professionals working across the sector.

The Research Advisory Group also provides a space for learning, collaboration, and sharing expertise. Members can help shape the MDAA's research priorities, contribute ideas for future projects, review emerging findings, and work alongside others who are passionate about improving outcomes for male victims and survivors.
Join the Research Advisory Group and help us shape research that informs practice, influences policy, and drives positive change for male victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
